FARM. LEARN. GROW.

Our Mission

Empowering individuals and students in our local community by offering educational experiences in sustainable farming, especially Aquaponics and Urban agriculture.

Sustainable Agriculture and Symbiosis Education

GYO GREENS GIVING has spent the past decade committed to sustainable farming methods, including Aquaponics, which combines traditional aquaculture with hydroponics. This symbiotic relationship cultivates nutritious specialty produce and provides a clean environment for aquatic animals, and also utilizes the best of each in a constant loop of beneficial cooperation.

The organization’s commitment to symbiotic relationships reaches further than its original flagship aquatic growing model. It provides educational outreach programs, emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture through tours, field trips, volunteerism, and a partnership with local universities, community organizations, and schools.

The organization has hosted students like Andrea Acosta (pictured below) who started at the farm as a volunteer when she was in high school. Eventually, she became a key staff member leading farm operations while completing her education at UNF. The organization has hosted several other students who have worked at the farm during summer internships or as volunteers.

The GYO GREENS GIVING nonprofit organization started at the original farm location in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. This farm sits on a one-acre lot and includes a two 3,000-sq.-ft. greenhouses and multiple outdoor planters and gardens. They provide live and grown-to-order produce to many local restaurants and chefs who are passionate about the work they do and farm-to-table cuisine. Their produce includes specialty items like petite greens, microgreens, petit vegetables, edible flowers, and savory herbs.

As our nonprofit organization continues to grow, new farms will join the list of locations where students can apply for internships and opportunities to learn about sustainable farming.
